VOCALSSS DONNE
June 6, 2009
Hey dudies!

So after master and brio left for Japan, I stayed behind another week to work on vocals with kenta. It was a very very intense week of studio work. We went in almost every single day and worked through the night, and I am proud to say that we were able to get all of the basic vocals done! hurraayyy- super unicorn fun fun!

But anyway, it was a lot of work but still a good time, kenta and i got to spend some many long night of quality time.

I was in the studio up to the very last minute, I left from the studio at 4am to catch my 6 am flight to california. I was doing vocal takes right to the very last second before my girlfriend came to pick me up.

Now i am in california, and the fate of our record has been left in the hands of mr. no more crazy hair bass man. Kenta will be mixing the record with the final weeks he has left in B town, so everyone get excited.

now i have gone from being extremely busy to being a bum, but its nice to be back in my home home town in cali. i think it will be a relaxing month.

THE STUDIO
May 30, 2009
YO YO how is everyone doing? Sorry its been so long since the update. Things have been crazy over in the papersky world. We were all super busy recording, moving out, and graduating. Now that moving out and graduating has ended and many of us have brought our final activities in Boston to an end we have been able to focus on recording only.

Recording has been fairly well. We ran into some trouble here there with sicknesses and studio time getting taken away from us, but we have been fighting through it all.

Currently we are totally finished drums, bass, and guitar. Keys and TTs are about half way done and Vocals have just gotten started.

Brian left back to Japan the other day and Master will be leaving tonight. I decided to stay behind in Boston with Kenta for an extra week to finish vocals. Hopefully we can finish them up!

2 DAYS AWAY
May 5, 2009
Howdie dudies!

We are two days away from going into the studio! We have about 8 songs that we are going to be recording in this final batch. We are also just about to be done with college, so these are exciting times. Im one paper away from finishing all my school work, I can't believe I am almost done, college has definitely flown by.

Anyway, we are going to start with drums for the first couple days and the rest of us are gonna try to fill in the about half songs in about a few days. Then we will have a graduation weekend break and then continue to fill in the rest of the songs, recording will probably continue to the end of May.

Exciting times, I cant wait for everyone to hear our new stuff, its doppeeee.

- i gotta watch the new Star Trek movie!

Hey dawgies!
GETTING THERE...
April 13, 2009
Hey peeeps!

So we have been moving along as fast as we can. We only have a couple weeks left until our rehearsal studio is no longer ours. Then we hit May which is officially our recording month.

Last practice, we cut our losses and let some songs go. It was obvious that we were not going to get all of them done, so we picked the songs that we were vibing with the most.

After picking those songs, we began to finalize them by squaring them, confirming song structures, and setting little rhythms.

Time is getting tight, and so are our school schedules, so it is a race against time. We still have a couple songs that we definitely want on the record, but are still missing a part or two.

Hopefully we can get this stuff together and we are not biting off more than we can chew. Once we have finalized all the songs, there is gonna be a lot more emphasis on people practicing their parts on their own because we wont be able to meet up to practice, or even have space to practice as a band any longer.

wish us luck! it is crunch time, but these songs are bad ass- and i cant wait to let everyone hear them.

GOOD SHOW, GOOD PARTY, GOOD TIMES
March 30, 2009
Hey dudies!

Last Friday we played what was probably our last show in Boston. It was at Tufts in one of the Cafes and it was good olddd time! As usual the Tufts crowd was not too thrilled about loud rock and such, but by the time we got playing, they definitely were enjoying themselves and were happily entertained. So thank you to all the people who came out to see us at our last show in the United States, for probably a really long time!

We then proceeded to the after party which was also a new level fun happy happy fun funs. People were dancing on counters and dancing on dirty kitchen floors, definitely a successful party.

Now that we have this show done with, we are full throttle focusing only on song writing and getting ready to record. We will be giving up our rehearsal studio at the end of April, and we are starting to record as soon as we hit May.

It looks like we have about a song and half left to finish writing before we start ironing everything out with our new songs, so we gotta get rolling!

Please check out our new vlog that brian made the other day- it looks like a super duper fun fun.

We are graduating soon, I am excited and sad. I am trying to enjoy every single day I have left as a college student.

RECORDING, BIRTHDAY, BASEBALL
March 16, 2009
Hi all,

There has been a lot going on these days.

First, a couple weeks ago, we all got our butts rocked by mid terms. When my mid terms came around, i got my butt kicked extra hard cause I had not been doing much work- up until then I had basically been spending every night working on music.

It was extra tough because the week that all my classes gave mid terms, was the week that we had decided to go into record. So that was extra tough.

We went into the studio for three days in a row, Brian had to go back to Worcester after the first night because he was knee high in projects and such. Hiroshit B Mita left for japan after the first night as well because he missed sushis very much. (he was also on spring break)

So it was Kenchan and I in the studio for the next two days, it was pretty gnarly cause we were stying in there all day all night. We were finishing up songs that we had recorded last May, adding vocals, guitars, and guitar overdubbs.

I have to say Kenta did an awesome job as an engineer/producer recording me the whole weekend. He was the only one there so he took on all the responsibilities, which is a lot of work (as anyone who has recorded before would know). But anyway, we got a lot done- we finished vocals on two tracks, added lead on both as well. we also finished up all guitars on another song! so we are moving along quite well.

We have a lot of songs for this recording cycle, mainly because we have been recording for a really long time, so get excited! its gonna be a real battle against time to get them done, but I think we are on track at this point.

Anyway, less importantly. It was my birthday of 22 years the other day... I have become an old person! My friends through me a party and we went out to eat wings, so i was happy.

I am now on spring break in san diego- and it is beautiful out here. Yesterday, I meet up with Kenta who was finishing his spring break and some other peeps from high school and watched the Japan vs Cuba World Baseball Classic game! Great times-

AAlrighhtty then, I am gonna try to surf today with some friends, so wish me luck.

WRIITTINGG CONTINUES... AND OTHER STUFF
February 15, 2009
What up dudies!?

I hope you all had a happy v day- ate some nummy chocolates and played with some roses!I have to say mine was a super duper good time!

Papersky has been charging forward with our new batch of songs. We are taking on a lot more ideas on than we usually do, but we have been able to efficiently spread our the love and attention to all our songs. They are well on their way to rock awesomeness!

The other day we had practice in the morning instead of night for the first time, and it was an a greaaattt experience. This is because we found that this dough nut place that we always stop off at (called Doughboy Donuts) has full size super American breakfast's in the morning! We just had never been there early enough to realize this.

Wow it was a yummy experience but one of the broskies in the band had stomach problems after eating it for the rest of the day and during practice- poor fella.

anyway- just wanted to let you know that we are still working hard to bring you guys some bad ass tracks!

WRITING!
January 29, 2009
Hey everyone! Whats cookin?

So we are back in action writing new songs. Last week we all shared ideas that we had been working on on our own. It looks like we got some sweet tunes coming your way. It is really exciting to see how these new songs are gonna turn out and by the way things are going it looks like we will have a pretty solid rockin album with some new elements and styles involved so be pumped!

We meet up the other day at a bar to eat 25 cent buffalo wings, 8 dollar pitchers of beer, and some french fries at this bar called the TAP. As we munched away we discussed what we are going to try to get done this semester.

It seems like it is a big race against the clock, we want to try to take advantage of the Emerson radio station and record as much as we can, but at the same time we all still have to graduate, hang out with friends, and enjoy life so its a hard balance, but new music is high on our priority list.

Anyway on a more important note, I've been eating a lot of vegetables these days- they are awesome. All I have to say is that yellow bell peppers are my new favorite- even though they are extremely expensive. So much more expensive than green and red, but I think worth the extra money.

Keep rockin yo bodies.

PREPRODUCTION DUNZO!
October 28, 2008
WHAAAAT AAAAAAPPU!?!?!?!?!?

we went in the studio (WERS) on saturday to record our new songs. We recorded 3 new song ideas and they are all BA. we're all really excited about our new songs and can't wait til we can have them out for you guys to listen.

in terms of song writing we've been exploring new fields, pushing ourselves to try new things. we should be updating our video blog soon too.

preproduction was so much fun even though it was a long day for us. Nate and I went to WERS earlier to checkout FCFIVE and Ruiner's live mix that Kenta did. FCFIVE is a band from Japan and they were awesome. check out their myspace!

www.myspace.com/fcfive

we started our preproduction after that at 5pm and we finished at 6am. It was a long day but it was so much fun. WERS had some tight ass electronica music hour which pumped me up like crazy and i was dancing all night while nate was recording vocals. I'll be working on my dance moves for the next show so look forward to it!!!

PRE-PRODUCTION!!!
October 19, 2008
Whats up guys!?

Our page has been quiet for sometime now, but we have actually been working really hard for the past few weeks. We have been writing more new material since we've all been back, and the new stuff is off the hook! I cant wait for you guys to hear them!

Now that we have some solid ideas, were gonna be going into the studio this coming Saturday for some pre-production! We'll be laying the tracks down and making sure each part is working within the song and also making sure that they are moshable!

The whole band except KeyJ(who was stuck in the lab all day building a robot) went to go see Rise Agaisnt's headlining tour along with Thrice, Alkaline Trio and The Gaslight Anthem at the Palladium in Worcester. It's been a while since I last saw Thrice, but they were just amazing and I fell in love with them all over again. They are so good live, and are definitely the best sounding band I've seen live. The other bands put on a good show as well, especially Rise Against whose new CD is awesome by the way.

We'll let you guys know how pre-production goes and try to get some video footage up soon as well. Till then, stay safe and keep warm, Boston is COLD!

EVERYONE IS BACK!
September 13, 2008
Hey poodles! All of Papersky is officially back in B-town. Kenta came back a week ago and we have our first meeting yesterday night!

We sat and talked about the new CD, recording, T shirts, and horses! But it was about 3 hour meeting and although it was long, we got to discuss a lot of stuff. It was nice to be able to put everything out on the table and figure out our goals for this year and so on.

We also got confirmation on our new studio! It more expensive than the one we had last year, but hopefully its a little bigger.

So from next week we are moving all our gear in and starting to write neww musicaa!

YO YO!
August 31, 2008
Dudes, I am finally back in Boston as well, we are now waiting on Kenchan to get back so that we can continue our papersky adventures!

It is great to be back, the weather is much better, and it is awesome seeing all of our buddies!

I am extra happy about my the flight I had coming back to America cause I was able to meet an artist that I love to listen to and truly admire for her song writing.

I didnt know until I got off the plane, but I was on the same plan as one of my favorite artists Marie Digby! Ive been great fan of her music it was awesome that I got to meet her! This experience has pumped me up to write more bad ass music for this next CD!

It seems like everyone in the band has a lot of different thing it wants to accomplish on the next CD, although we all want try many different things, i think we are all on the same page about wanting to push our boundaries and in fact trying many different things!

Anyway, back at Tufts, it feels weird, the realization of how much hard work im gonna have to put in for my last year in college is becoming evident, but I am excited to do it! I will try to savor every moment of drinking shitty bear and eating late night pizza, cause it is my last year.

The weather is grea today

Im going to go eat Pho today- excited.

I think I left my cell phone charger in Japan..

love,

BACK FROM INDIA
July 17, 2008
Whats up dudes and dudets!

I am officially back from India, and I have to say it was an awesome experience, but I am very happy to be back in Japan, especially to be able to brush my teeth with tap water! It is awesome, there are so many things that I take for granted here, but I will try to appreciate it as best as possible now that I am back!

The first thing sandy and I ate when we got back was a nice obentou from originbentou- and it was awesome, a little bit of bliss in every bite! Great Great! I gotta hit up some ramen tomorrow.

Anyways- I think Brian is back in Japan now, so thus there are 3 out of 4 papersky members in TKY, so we are going to try to get back to work ASAP! I am excited to show the other dudes what I have been working on and I am excited to hear the stuff they have been working on as well.

Ok- get ready for our show on aug 15th! Our CD will be there, and so will Yesterday Fall's( i think it will be crazy bad ass)

Hey everybody! whats going on? im sorry no one has updated the website in a while, i was hoping one of the other dudes would have since im in india, and never have website access, but i guess they are lazy- hahah

india- is an amazing country- ive seen so many interseting things in the past week and i see new things everyday, it is really nice to get away frome everything and spend time in a totally new environment.

im in northern india, in the mountains, and it is beautiful.

ive been volunteering with my lovely girlfriend, sanchan-- teaching english to little kids in this tiny town. the preschool is tiny, one room with no electricity, and there is a little deck out front about the size of my bedroom, and its been great! i brought my guitar and sing itsy bitsy spider and all kinds of other songs, they love the guitar, and i am happy to say that although they do not speak english, music does not need to be translated.

otherwise, ive been hiking, writing songs, getting to know other volunteers, and spending time much needed time with my girlfriend.

i hope everyone is enjoying their summers! i am off to an amazing one, india is blowing my mind, and the children are fu*in cute!

i miss you all

i want to eat ramen, shabu shabu, or sushi real bad- but indian food is bad ass

i have not had solid poo in a long time.

EATING, DRINKING, WRITING, LEAVING
June 16, 2008
Ladies and Gentlemen! Sorry it has taken us a while to update you guys. Things have been fairly quiet in the world of Papersky as I explained last time. But I have personally have been having a great time the past couple weeks.

Ive been hanging out with lots of old friends, eating good food in Tokyo, sleeping a lot, spending time with family, and writing songs! It has been the dream for the past couple weeks!

Some new songs ideas have come to me the past couple weeks which I'm really pumped about. I tracked some rough guitar tracks, and KeyJ and I went to the park and tracked some vocals, it was a good time. Kids screaming in the park in the middle of the night!

I also got to see a couple buddy bands play at Edge, our old home base during Samurai River, and these bands were awesome, The Summer Hour and Yesterday Fall were bad ass- you guys should check them out! Yesterday Fall did a bad ass cover of Only Forward, and invited me to jump on stage to sing with them, which was BA!

Anyways, please keep spreading the word about in Transit! I will be gone from Japan, to go on that service project to India this weekend! I am really excited for that, I will try to update you guys about my adventures over there when I get access to internet!

Love you all! I can't wait for the new Finch EP to come out!

KeyJ, is gonna be back in Japan soon hanging out with me, and working at a summer school program, and I'm gonna be heading out to India on a service project in a couple weeks.

Its rainin outside here back in Japan. But it is nice to be back. I was able to sell some more hard copies of our CD to some close friends which is awesome.

We would like to thank everyone who has bought our CD! Thanks to everyone who wrote nice constructive comments about our CD! Please keep spreading the word about In Transit!

So Papersky had an intense week of recording new music, but now that I am gone, and KeyJ will be back in Japan in a week or so, it seems like Papersky will be low on activity for a couple months, but we will Keep Rocking the Chizain! we are all writing new music and trying to pub the CD, so we will have lots of fun videos and stuff up for you guys to check out!

I think Brian is making some more fun updates on our website too!

BIG NEWS
May 25, 2008
We have all waited for this moment for too long. Over 2 years ago, we wrote "Framed and Force-fed", our first song as Papersky. The recording process began in May 2007 at WERS 88.9 FM Boston, where our bassist works as a recording engineer. After several months of recording, mixing, mastering, production, and numerous delays, our CDs have arrived. Now, finally, "In Transit" is available on the iTunes Store for everyone around the world to listen to.

We always appreciate everyone that listens to our music or supports us in any way. We are also putting together some shows and will be selling physical copies of our CDs at those venues. In the meantime, please check out our album on iTunes - it really means a lot to us!

Peace
- Brian

RECORDING AND GAMBLING
May 20, 2008
Hey guys whats going on! Last weekend we had a really good session at the radio station, Brian and Kenta recorded three songs of Drums and Bass and they did a bad ass job. We got a lot of good tones and takes with a lot of energy, so we are all pretty happy with that. This weekend, I'm going in with KeyJ to record the other shtuufff so it should be good. We are already working on our next CD although our first one hasnt been uploaded to i tunes yet, but dont worry, it will be there soon!Hopefully in the next couple weeks.

Papersky, has been working really hard, so we decided to try to take advantage of no school and do something fun. So we decided to hit the casino!! We are driving down the Connecticut tomorrow and we are staying for a night. Hopefully we will get lucky and make some money since we are so poor these days haha. Cheer us on! We will take lots of vids to let you know if any of us made it big!

WE ARE DONE!!!
March 30, 2008
All the music and artwork is done and we have sent it out to get pressed. I know we've said this is done this is done forever now, but we are officially done. In about 2weeks, we will have huge boxes full of our first ablum, In Transit.

While this CD did take forever, over a year since we began preproduction, it has been a tough but fun ride. I want everyone to know that while this is our first CD we are releasing to the world, it is also our first attempt to try to make something that can stand on its own in the industry. All of us are very happy with the outcome of the CD, and its hard to believe that we have done all of it on our own. It was just like learning a new instrument all over again. The four of us together learned an instrument called record making, and have learned so much. This has been a huge step for us as a band, and we feel confident about going on with what we have been doing and continue making good music, making CD's and playing sweet shows.

For all of you who have been waiting for this CD to come out, thank you so much for waiting. Now, its time for us to pass the CD over to you guys, and let you guys do the work. Listen to it a bunch of times, learn the lyrics, rock out, and come to our shows and we will rock out together. Like Nate has said, this is the biggest project I have ever been apart of, and have spent more money and time into this than I ever thought I had, and it is also the proudest I have ever been about any work I have done. I know theres still some time for the CD to come out, but when it does check it out and let us know what you think. Thanks,

LAST MINUTE CHANGES
March 25, 2008
Hey dudes- some exciting in the world of Papersky. We got back our CD after being mastered, and it sounds awesome! We just have some last minute changes that need to be taken care of and we will send it off to be pressed- and it should be available on i-tunes very soon. Keep a look out to pick up "In Transit" its awesome!!!

Otherwise- we have officially gotten studio time at WERS to record our first batch of songs for our Second CD before we all disperse for the summer! I know its crazy that we already are recording new songs for the second CD before the first one has even come out- but thats how long and crazy this process has been, we have been writing songs and they are awesome- we will be recording 3 songs in May.

Otherwise- school is winding down and shit is getting busy- so we have to stay on top of our academic game even though its hard at times with all this music around us.

MASTERING
March 2, 2008
whats cooking yo- i hope you guys are enjoying all the new videos and website stuff we have been doing. As we said earlier we finished mixing the CD, and we have sent it off to the mastering engineer! We decided to go with a friend of ours who also works at WERS, he is into mastering and is going to hook us for a good price, so hopefully it will be done by next week, and we can send off for it!

We should have a CD release party date soon, and will also have the CD available for purchase soon!

In other parts of Papersky- we began writing new songs, which has been tight, we have a lot of new ideas- and trying to push ourselves personally as well as a band as a whole on the new CD, but we also dont want to stray too far from what we have been doing, it should be a fun CD to work on. Our first CD isnt even out yet, but we are pumped to write the next!

Its a never ending cycle, but we cant get away from what we love!

we are playing the second round of Emergenza this tuesday! wish us luck!

FINISHED MIXING
February 24, 2008
Whats cracking in the microwave everyone!

Big news for everyone! We have Officially finished mixing the CD! It's been a long road, but the songs sound bad ass, and im proud to say that we were able to record and mix our own first CD!

Last night we went into the studio at midnight for our final mix down to tie up loose ends throw some finishing touches on everything. We finished at 10 30 am!

Now we need to decide who we are gonna get our CD mastered by, hopefully we can have everything finalized and the CD in our hands in a few weeks. Although we are still a little ways away from the CD being done and pressed- it feels great to have our end of the CD done! I have to say its one the biggest projects of my life, and im excited that we get to finally share it everyone!

Thats thats the update for now- we will have many more stupid videos that makes it look like we dont do anything besides mess around all the time coming soon!

CD ALMOST DONE
February 19, 2008
Hey guys, like Nate said in the last post, we are REALLY almost done with our CD. We went in to the radio station this last weekend, and checked out our mixes. They are sounding great, and a few of our songs are completely done. I will be going back in to the studio in a bit to mix the rest of the songs, and all of the mixing will be done by this Saturday. We will then pass it along to our mastering engineer then pressed. We will be releasing our album on iTunes as well, for those of you who live far away.

I know we have been saying the CD will be done soon all the time, but this time we are really really right there. Until the release of our CD we will be posting a lot of videos and blogs and such, so come check out what were up to, and you might hear some stuff from the album in the videos as well.

Its been a long road, starting in May of last year, almost a year has gone by and even more time has passed since we wrote the songs that are on the album. It took us a long time, but we have learned so much about making a record, and we have all grown as musicians. If our next record takes this long (which it hopefully wont) I will still be happy since we will be learning even more about all the different parts that go into a record.

As we wrap this album up, we are already writing a bunch of new songs and they are sounding really sweet. I cant wait to see where these new batch of songs are headed, but I can already see that we are all pushing our limits in our music and exploring many new grounds.

Thats about all I have to say for now, but for now just keep checking back for new posts and information about our album. Hopefully we will have a release date set pretty soon.

Thanks for checking in, and don't worry, we will play some shows when the CD is actually out. See you in the crowd!
